Elementary and Middle School Lead

Welcome to our CMASAS middle school! We are so excited to have you on this journey with us. Our online community offers opportunities for you to meet friends and teachers from all over the world. My name is Daisy Cheatham, and I am the Middle School Lead. I am also a PEC (Personalized Education Coach) and foreign language and electives instructor for CMASAS. I have been fortunate enough to work for our school for more than 10 years, and I love it more every year. Outside of work, my interests and hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening, hiking, walking on the beach, traveling, and learning as many languages as I can! 

CMASAS offers a unique and personalized educational experience. We believe in mastery-based learning rather than “teaching to a test” and rote memorization. Students are offered the opportunity to personalize their courses based on their interests and schedule. Each PEC assigned to a student becomes more than a teacher and advisor. In our model, they become an extended part of your family who cheers and supports your child right alongside you. 

One of our most important goals at the middle-school level is to prepare students for the challenge of high school by teaching them the skills of self-advocacy and personal agency. It is a very hard lesson to learn, but if you stick with us, by the time your child has finished high school, they will have already mastered these skills that will make their college experience or career endeavors a breeze. 

At the middle-school level, we offer many core courses written inhouse by our amazing curriculum team. We also offer many electives including Spanish, art, and technology. We have many school clubs where students can engage with peers to foster a deeper relationship. Middle school students can opt to join our Student Council to learn valuable leadership skills, and they can even run for a leadership position in the organization! Additionally, PECs offer weekly, engaging homerooms that connect students to their school community on our Microsoft Teams meeting platform. Finally, I would like to heartily welcome you to CMASAS!
