ACT Test Prep

This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of the most effective strategies and most relevant content for raising their ACT scores. Students begin with a full-length practice test to identify personalized areas to target. From there, they can engage with English, math, reading, and science tutorials, each accompanied by a quiz to test student mastery. Students also learn important information about the structure and content of the ACT along the way.

Applied Leadership

Students engage in activities that develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on experiences. Students complete a minimum of 90 hours participating in activities such as student government, community service, charitable work, advocacy for a cause, or leading a group to solve a specific problem. Through these experiences, students build and demonstrate competencies in communication, technology, organizational skills, personal responsibility, and integrity.

Keyboarding

Essential Elective

Students learn touch-typing skills with proper finger placement, building both accuracy and speed. Students should be able to type all letters and numbers with 80% or better accuracy at 24 wpm by the end of Keyboarding A. Students should achieve 35 wpm at 90% or better accuracy by the end of Keyboarding B, and this includes typing with punctuation marks and capital letters.

Learn more about yourself and prepare for the future through goal setting, decision making, surviving college and career, and how to become a valuable contributing member of society. Students begin with a full-length practice test to identify personalized areas to target. From there, they can engage with reading, writing, and math tutorials, each accompanied by a quiz to test mastery.

Senior Seminar

This course is instructed by the school counselor and is meant to help seniors prepare for graduation and post high school endeavors. Students explore college options, learn how to apply to college, set future goals, and explore careers and financial literacy. Students will also learn about registering to vote, gap year options, and managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
