Overview

Three credits of World Languages/Fine Arts/CTE are required to graduate from CMASAS. These can be a combination of any courses from World Language, Fine Arts, or CTE.

Students have a variety of options for performing arts classes. Some courses, such as Dance, Musical Performance, and Theatrical Performance, are log-based courses designed to document and incorporate current student activities in the arts. These are for students who are actively involved in outside courses or related activities and who wish to further develop their skills while receiving high school credit. Log-based courses are distinguished by a "portfolio" designation within the course card.

Others, such as musical instrument courses, are more structured courses that provide students with learning content and lessons in that area.

Students are encouraged to communicate regularly with their course instructor.  Email, instant messaging, and live meetings are commonly used to share performances and to receive feedback and guidance.
